Pharming and Transgenic Plants

Pharming, which is the linguistic blend of two words "farming" and "pharmaceutical", involves the use of genetic engineering for insertion of genes that code for essential pharmaceuticals into host plants that would otherwise not express those genes, thus creating a genetically modified organism practice of genetically modifying plants. It is an essential alternative to traditional pharmaceutical development and has been used to generate large quantities of pharmaceuticals, such as hormones, antibodies, enzymes, and vaccines. The respective session of Plant Science Conference is going to focus on genetic engineering, transgenic plants, plant enzymes and plant vaccines.
